I am Bolaji BALOGOUN, a Data Engineer and Information Systems practitioner. I lead data platforms engineering, where I build and maintain the infrastructure that powers agriculture, mobility, commerce, and fintech advanced analytics across resource-constrained environments.

My background sits at the intersection of applied statistics, data engineering, and information systems. I am currently interested in Information Systems, focused on pipeline reliability and closed-loop anomaly detection in production data platforms.

This publication is about fixing that, through better infrastructure design, rigorous data quality thinking, and the research connecting both. Every piece here is grounded in production experience and written for people who want more than surface-level takes.

What to expect?

Not every piece here comes with answers. Some are questions I am sitting with. Problems I have hit in production and have not fully solved yet. I write those too, because the most useful conversations I have had about data systems started with someone saying “I do not know how to fix this.” If you have faced the same wall, I want to hear how you got through it.
